Beer Label Collage

I finally made my beer label collage!

After almost a year of peeling, soaking, and obviously drinking, I acquired a pretty large collection of very cool beer labels.

This all started when I started to notice the beautiful art and typography on beer labels, and so I thought they would look even better all together!

So the process started by slicing off the government warnings on almost all the labels if they were not part of the art/branding of the label, otherwise I left it.

Then I arranged them on the canvas (12x24 and 1.5in thick) how I wanted then slowly began using Emerald’s Rubber Cement and glued them to eachother.

After I arranged and glued them all down I wanted to put a varnish/mask across them all to create a unity between the different types of paper and glosses on almost every label.

So I got a matte varnish and it really brought a unifying texture to all the labels! Only needed one layer of the matte and it didnt effect the color of the labels (luckily!)

Finally I found a perfect spot to hang it!

Cheers!

SWEET website

I just came across this website this morning from HOW’s June top 10 websites for inspiration, it’s an agency called Bossa from NYC. It’s a sister company of another multimedia company called Hornet.

Bossa’s website has google earth integrated into it and they customize it all the way down to the street level, its absolutely mind blowing. Check it out here.
